The South Brent Community Network is a non-profit organisation created to promote the use of Internet technology for the benefit of the local community.
This web site, along with the Computer Centre at the Old School form the heart of the operation and further details may be found by following the links on the left or below.
This site is designed to be a collaborative effort from many local individuals, rather than relying on 1 or 2 people to collect and publish information. It uses a system called 'Typo3' which allows users to create web pages just using their web browser WITHOUT ANY NEED TO KNOW HTML (the 'language' of WWW) and also allows control of all aspects of the site to be delegated to many individuals.
More than that 'Typo3' offers many additional features which make administering lists, news items, pictures etc much easier for the users. For more information about how the site works see This Website.
The key to making the site successful is for enough people to both use the site and contribute to it to make it the essential reference source for anyone wanting to know about South Brent.
